Book Abstract
This book will explore emerging developments and trends in global peace, focusing on the impact of power politics and foreign policy. It will offer a comparative analysis of major powers? Indo-Paci?c strategies and examine how various forms of warfare - such as conventional con?icts (e.g., the Russia-Ukraine war, the Israel-Iran tensions, and the Gaza con?ict) - pose signi?cant threats to global peace. Additionally, the book will investigate the implications of new forms of grey-zone interference and threats, including cyber and information warfare and con?ict hotspots in the Indo-Paci?c region.Furthermore, it will analyse how state actors prepare for and engage in peace-building efforts, emphasising institutional arrangements and frameworks at bilateral, regional, and multilateral levels. The book will also consider the future prospects for global peace, highlighting the roles of non-state actors?such as corporations and civil society - in promoting peace beyond the state-centric paradigm. Overall, the book will adopt global peace as its central theme, employing case studies and comparative analyses across different regions to construct a comprehensive vision and framework for achieving a sustainable peace worldwide.
